Measurements: US size 6.5 and weighs 3.1 grams. Length approx. 13mm (5/8th inch).

Description : Classic Georgian slightly rectangle slightly arched to accommodate the shape of the finger. A simple folded hoop forks into two openwork branches at the shoulders. The bezel is particularly lovely: it has a border consisting of alternating turquoise cabochons and small pearls. Within is a glass-enclosed space with the original, braided blond hair enclosed. Hair is like silk and would be a token of a loved one, making this an extremely romantic and sentimental ring. In some cases hair was used in memorial jewelry, but the light colors make it more likely that this was a love token.

Marks: The ring was hallmarked in France with 14k shell mark. This indicates that the ring was probably made in England, but assayed in France.

Condition: Minor wear commensurate with age, including darkening at points where hoop meets bezel. Please see enlarged pictures and don't hesitate to ask questions which we will do our best to answer.
