Fully hallmarked for 18ct Gold, and its makers mark, W,W,  this wonderful, and unusual buckle ring features a large old mine cut diamond in a bezel setting on a wide, solid band.  Ornate chasing is present all the way round the ring, giving it a really unique feel. 

Buckle rings were prevalent in the Victorian era, when sentimental jewellery was extremely popular.  Buckles on jewellery were given as love tokens as they symbolised the binding love between the giver and the wearer of the ring.  They were also regarded as symbols of loyalty and memory.

This is a stunning and classical piece which would fit a UK size M 1/2, or US size 6 1/2. It weighs a substantial 5.81g of solid 18ct Gold.
